Look Up, For Your Redemption Is At Hand
When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. -Luke 21:28 BSB
“When these things begin to happen” Which event did Jesus refer to when speaking to His disciples that had to start to indicate their salvation from this present world?
Jesus started with the destruction of the second Temple. That was the beginning sign of His return in the much distant future.
The other sign to look at was the inundation of false Christs—people claiming to be the second coming of Jesus Christ. They will deceive many by way of emotions and false teachings working on those who don’t know the Scriptures and are prone to manipulation.
Jesus also included the signs of hearing the rumors of potential world wars suggesting that world peace will be taken away. Nations will start getting impatient with each other over resources and boundaries.
There will be an uprising of different ethnicity fighting one another. An uptick (much more frequent) of “earthquakes, famines, and pestilences” happening “in various places.”
All the signs mentioned above will become more common before the Antichrist’s arrival, and all those signs will reach their climax during the Seven-year Tribulation, when the wrath of God is poured out upon the earth, see Revelation 6.
We shouldn’t be afraid or discouraged because of how dark the world is getting. God’s wrath is initiated due to the majority of people abandoning God, making the world evil. The more evil the world becomes, the closer Jesus is getting to rescue us from the Great Tribulation which is fast approaching.
Even though Luke 21:28 seems to point to Jesus’ second coming, however, we understand that 1 Thessalonians chapters 1 & 4, 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, and Revelation 3:10, clearly suggest that our redemption is the rapture without a shadow of the doubt.
Be encouraged, with the signs we are seeing today, the rapture is much closer than we think. make sure He catches you living out His will.
