Verse By Verse Through Galatians (1:3)
3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
-Galatians 1:3 BSB
Paul’s greeting for the church in Galatia is that they would receive grace, which means God’s kindness or favor, and peace, which means to have peace of mind that stems from God. That type of peace from God would cause you to be at rest even if you are in the middle of a storm.
Here, Paul attributes to Jesus Christ what can only come from God the Father, true “grace and peace.” He does not make a distinction between God and Jesus but speaks about them as being one in essence.
